Pros

  • You can feel the witch hazel upon applying and it smells good

  • Price is very reasonable considering the results and 100ml tube

Cons

Not many cons with using this moisturiser but it doesn’t last that long like some of the others in the market, this is combated however by the price.

I have been using this now for a couple of weeks and I’m pretty happy with the results.

The only other con I could possibly say is that some men might find it a little ‘medical smelling’ because of the witch hazel – I personally think this adds to the products appeal as it makes you feel clean and fresh when applying it.

My Opinion

Bulldog have pitched this product at the everyday man and the cost certainly reflects its price position. For what you pay, you get good results.

I would certainly keep using this product and recommend it as a mid-range solution to combating oily skin, especially us folically challenged men.

I also like that it’s made in the UK, is cruelty-free and has a Good Shopping Guide for being an ethical company.

Bulldog oil control moisturiser in hand

The moisturiser is defiantly non-greasy and I like the feel as you apply it. The smell of the witch hazel and Juniper really makes it stand out amongst the competition in this price range.

Although I have not had, 24hr protection, I would say this moisturiser performed well in most conditions except the dreaded sweaty day (most moisturisers fail here).  It did mattify my face and head, I certainly noticed this when looking in the mirror mid-morning.

This is what Bulldog says the product offers

“This non-greasy moisturiser contains witch hazel, willow bark and juniper. Specially formulated to mattify, improve skin texture and balance the skin. Clinically proven to control shine.

All our products are purpose built for men and contain amazing natural ingredients. Be loyal to your skin. Our products never contain artificial colours, synthetic fragrances, or ingredients from animal sources.”

Pricing

RRP £6.00 available on the official website of Bulldog.

Final thoughts

Bulldog grooming products seem to be really improving and I think there a brand to watch in the future. On this back of this product, I am certainly going to try other products they have in the range.

I would say this is good ‘all-rounder’ and a product for everyday use, its results thou and mixed depending on your skin type. It has managed to reduce the shine I get on my head from excess oil but this does not last all day. I would, however, be happy to reapply this several times and carry the product with me due to its reasonable cost.

I like the ethical stance of the company and I also like the simple packaging and brand. I think most men should give this a try, if like me you don’t like the shine this will certainly help but it not the best one out there. Good product, great price.

  1. The absolute best moisturiser I’ve ever used is Cerave which you can get in Boots. It’s about £12 for 454g and lasts 24h easily. Would love to see you do a review of it.
