Wearing Hats To Hide Baldness – Why You Should Think Twice

Wearing a hat

There are only 3 reasons to be wearing a hat, anything outside of these three means you’re hiding from something, which is certainly something you should not do.

This is especially true if you’re going bald and you’re trying to hide the obvious.

Why?

Because wearing a hat will only show people your insecurities and if you’re sick and tired of the teasing and taunting, then wearing a hat will only make things 10 times worse.

In this post, we’ll talk through the three GOOD reasons why men should actually wear hats.

#1 – Wear Hats For Protection

OK, one of the best reasons – hard hats, biking/crash/ski helmets are all acceptable, after all, we need to keep that head in one piece. Don’t think just because you’ve got a bald head that suddenly you have your very own built-in crash helmet – you don’t.

#2 – Wear Hats For Fashion

Just because you losing your hair doesn’t mean you have to lose your style – this site is all about making sure you still have it or if not, you’ll end up finding it.

Hats for fashion purposes can look cool, baseball caps, trilby, beanie, flat cap etc… all can look good on the right person, the right face.

I’m personally not a big wearer of hats for fashion purposes, never have been but I know some men love a good hat, I had a friend that used to collect them!

The right outfit too can benefit from a good hat; I mean what would the races be without a Top hat.

Just think carefully about your hat choice before you leap in, what you thought looked cool when you had hair might not be the case now – you might have to find a hat that suits you.

#3 – Wear Hats For Warmth

Me taking the dog for his 4th walk today, Jan 2017, UK – it’s freezing outside

This is the biggest reason I wear a hat.

Coming from the North of England the weather most of the year round can be quite changeable – mostly cold for a good 6 months of the year so having a good thick hat is a must for me.

If you have started to thin on top you will notice that you feel the cold air somewhat more than when you had a good head of hair.

As we all know, the head is one of the main places we lose heat from our bodies, even more so as a bald man.

Make sure you keep your head protected in a good thick hat during the winter months, looking after your skin on your face is just the same as looking after you head, you don’t want to end up with weather scalp, do you!

Conclusion

If you’re currently wearing a hat for any other reason than above then I guess it’s to do with the fact that you’re worried about your hair loss – try not to be.

Wearing a hat to hide your baldness is like using a sticky plaster to mend a knife wound, it just won’t work.

I understand that sometimes wearing the hat makes you feel a little more secure, like you have a moment to just be yourself without getting consumed by the anxiety or the worry of it all – trust me it only makes your self-confidence worse, at some point you’re going to have to take that hat off and face the world.

Look, it’s never as bad as it seems, embrace your look, if you don’t like it do something about it, we all have a choice, you might be surprised how good it feels to not hide anymore.
