Pros

This is surprising different face wash that really works when is comes to cleaning the skin
The texture is really different and every time I use this I am impressed. A little really does go a long way for the price, it’s surprising how well this does clean your face even on the heaviest of days

Cons

I have found it hard to come up with any serious cons for this product, it really does a good job so the only thing I could pull this up on is that you need to make sure that you have fully washed off all the product before you leave the shower/sink, it can have a tendency to stay in the cracks and crevices of your skin, especially around the ears.

My Opinion

I have tried many face washes over the years as I guess most of you have, this one, however, is one of my favourite every day, take with you wherever you go face washes.

In my early teens and 20’s, there weren’t many of these types of face washes around, it was mainly soaps or things like Clearasil, which back in the early 90’s were quite drying and harsh.

Things, however, have moved on quite a bit and we now have a plethora of male ordinated products on the market from numerous brands.

Coming from the trusted L’Oreal brand this is one of their ever-expanding ‘Men Expert Pure Power’ ranges. The first thing you notice is that this face wash is black in appearance due to the charcoal content and I’m sure some other ingredients.

Charcoal face wash I hear you cry? Well, it’s well known for its purifying properties and more and more products are using it these days. Its texture I can only really describe as that of acrylic paint, the more you spread it around the consistency and colour stays the same.

You don’t need to use much, which is a big plus point for me.

Although the product typically retails at around £5 you can find deals on this in most high street stores and online.

With this price bracket, you can afford to keep this at home, in your gym bag and take with you on holidays/vacations.

On first using the product you will notice that it sticks well to your skin and doesn’t slide off your hand like some other washes do, nothing worse that squeezing out your product only to see it slide off your hand and down the plug hole!

Once you spread this around your face and head you will notice that it keeps its consistency but turns into a whitish foam which you can work with to make sure you have cleaned your whole face and head.

I have found that you don’t need to reapply even when cleaning your whole head, you can see from my photo below how far it goes even from a small amount.

If you try this then you will notice how nice the product feels on your skin, you can actually feel it working and you’ll notice that your skin feels smooth and clean with not much washing.

I have noticed when using this that once you clean off the wash and rub your fingers over your skin you get that ‘squeaky’ noise  – it feels like you really have clean skin.

My only advice would be, make sure you thoroughly wash the whole of your face and head as it can stick around if you don’t rinse with enough water.

Final thoughts

For the price and the feeling this product gives your skin, it’s one of my all time favourites.

Not only does it do what it says, it really does clean your skin, I have found that I am less prone to spots and red marks, (essential for a bald guy) if I use this on a regular basis.

The Black Charcoal really does give this a wow factor when using it and I love the way that it keeps its consistency when using it over your whole face and head.

On the days when I know my skin has been particularly oily or I’ve had a late night partying I can trust the wash to clean my skin and leave me with a fresh and smooth feel.

This wash really does clean your pores and helps fight against marks and spots, that’s why I can confidently give this product full marks, a must try for me. 5 Stars
